Last year the city of Kenner budgeted $500,000 from their BP Oil settlement money for upgrades to all the gyms in the city of Kenner. Rhino Shield was the winner of the bid for the exterior work and began working in August 2016. The work involved protective coating and painting and also included the exterior of Kenner City Park outside restrooms and the Kenner City Park Pavilion which was the final job completed in July 2017.

Pro Signs and Graphics of Kenner was the winning bidder for gym signage. “The upgrades to the gyms throughout the city have been completed and the new name signs and protective coating in individual gym colors look wonderful,” said Kenner Mayor Ben Zahn. “A robust recreation program is important to Kenner residents, and the gym in each neighborhood is a source of pride – both for the young athletes and their families who use the gyms and the residents who live nearby.”The total cost for the gym’s and park upgrades was $483,932.66. The city had budgeted $500,000.

“We were able to accomplish these improvements by using more than $480,000 of the BP Oil settlement money received by Kenner,” said Mayor Zahn. “I see this as an investment in our city. We are ‘Kenner Proud.’”Rhino Shield is providing a two-year warranty on labor and a 25-year warranty on materials.
