Kenner’s Christmas Village opened on Saturday, November 25, 2017 in a new location this year in Kenner City Park. This year, city officials have added extra days allowing the village to be open after Christmas through Saturday, December 30, 2017. Santa Claus will be visiting Kenner’s Christmas Village every Wednesday through Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Sundays from noon until 8:00 p.m. and will also be available for pictures every day the Christmas Village is open. Christmas Village admission and parking are free. Non-profit organization and local vendors will be selling food and drinks and live groups will entertain visitors every night.
The city of Kenner is hosting two “Breakfast with Santa” events for children ages two and up on Saturdays, December 2 and 9, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. Pancakes and sausages will be served and holiday games, art and crafts, face painting and Santa pictures will be offered. Admission is $5 for children and $8 for adults. On Friday, December 15, 2017, the city will host a “Jammin” with Santa” party night for children ages two and up from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Children can come dressed in their favorite holiday pajamas and can experience pictures with Santa, enjoy pizza, cookie decorating, arts and crafts, story time with Mrs. Santa and more at the event. Tickets are $5 for children and $8 for adults.
A “Frozen” themed party, sponsored by the city, for children ages four and up will be held at noon on Saturday, December 23, 2017. The “Frozen” party includes pictures with the favorite movie characters, Elsa and Olaf. Frozen-themed snacks, arts and crafts, games and ice skating will be offered. Tickets are $10 per child. All the Christmas events are held in the Kenner Pavillion at Kenner’s City Park located at 3800 Loyola Drive.
